The history of FRANKE Elektrotechnik began on February 20, 1947 when the electrical and high-frequency engineer Alfred Franke founded the family business in Halle (Saale) GERMANY.

After initial difficulties, caused by the social conditions of the time, a very rapid and successful development took place.

Due to the permanent overload of the power grids, in combination with grid disruptions and a high proportion of reactive power, solutions had to be found.

Numerous innovative and pioneering processes and technologies were developed, which later became standards in capacitor technology and power quality.

The product range consisted of a wide variety of capacitors for a wide range of applications and special purposes.

There were power capacitors for reactive power compensation for low and medium voltage as well as electrolytic capacitors, furnace capacitors, storage and pulse capacitors for photo flashes, X-ray machines and a variety of other capacitors for special applications.

As the industry continued to develop, the need for reactive power capacitors increased significantly. Power capacitors became a focus of production. Added to this were reactive power factor controllers, filter circuit chokes, complete reactive power compensation systems and passive filters.

From the 1990s onwards, the emerging Asian markets were the focus of company development. New production facilities and representatives were established in order to supply the local markets quickly and economically.

With the rapid increase in non-linear consumers such as frequency converters, power supplies, LED lighting, etc. as well as the decentralized feed-in of wind and solar systems, complex grid disturbances increased significantly.

As a result, we carry out power grid analyses using the latest power quality measurement technology worldwide to show our customers ways to solve problems.

Upon request, we can also have reports prepared by a publicly appointed and sworn expert.

Our state-of-the-art and extremely fast active filters, developed and produced in Germany, can solve a wide range of power grid problems.

Thanks to many years of production experience and the continuous development of our products, we offer the know-how for an interference-free and energy-saving power supply.
