High-pass filters
High-pass filters are used to filter and reduce high-frequency interference through additional damping in power grids.
Malfunctions caused by commutations, resonances or high-frequency levels (clock frequencies and their multiples) are reduced.
The high-pass filters are supplied in ready-to-connect control cabinets.
The design is based on the existing network topology and the network load, which is always determined using a network analysis.
All high-pass filters are designed for specific applications.
Properties:
- Reduces Transient overvoltage’s / disturbances (due to switching operations)
- Reduces Commutation notches (from Thyristor / DC-drives)
- Filter effect increases with higher frequency
- Reduces Supraharmonics
- Reduces dip depth and edge steepness du/dt
- Dampens resonances and prevents oscillations
- 5-wire filter to relieve PE/N
